In 1987, Mr. Yajna Narayana Kammaje—fondly called Yagna—left his role as one of India’s pioneering quartz engineers at HMT to pursue a vision: crafting world-class watches rooted in Indian values.

An NIT Surathkal alumnus, Yagna built Sona on his philosophy of “Business as Yajna” (selfless service), guided by his enduring 5Ms, 4Ps, and 1Q—principles of quality, innovation, and integrity.

From a small plating atelier in Bangalore, Sona has grown into India’s largest OEM for luxury watch straps and timepieces, trusted by over 35 global and domestic brands. With 7 facilities, 800+ artisans and engineers, and a capacity of 2.5 million watches annually, Sona continues to embody precision, passion, and timeless elegance.
